What are the best tips for traveling in 2021?

Many people love to travel. It’s exciting and it can be educational too. For those who are not sure what their next destination should be, this blog post will help you out! Here is some of the best traveling advice for any who is looking to travel in 2021.

9 travelling Advice From Real People

What are the best tips for traveling in 2021 - What are the best tips for traveling in 2021?

First, we’ve asked some people who traveled before about their best advice and here is their response:

Planning Ahead

I believe almost everyone loves to travel, not just for business but most especially for leisure and vacation. Well, these are my few best pieces of travel advice for you. Plan everything about your travel, as much as possible 2 – 3 months ahead of time. Make sure to bring the necessary things you need for your trip. Extra careful to the places you will go to. Lastly, don’t be afraid to ask.

Thanks to Matt Levin from Marketman.

Create a checklist before you go

This should include items like:

  • Masks
  • Vaccination Card
  • Insurance Cards
  • Primary Care Physicians Information
  • Hand Sanitizer
  • Medications
  • Emergency Contacts Info
  • Test Results

Scan or photograph all documentation

You can also store it on your phone for additional backup.

Pack your COVID essential bag:

  • Take all the items listed on your checklist and place them in a large plastic ziplock bag. This will protect from any elements. Use a couple if you need.
  • Place the pre-packed and organized items in your hand luggage. Do not put these items in checked luggage.

Understand COVID Guidelines:

Here are things everyone needs to keep in mind:

  • State by state and county by county guidelines vary. There is no national standard that applies across the US. So, you might be in one state and required to wear a mask and not in another. And, some states have removed restrictions if someone is vaccinated – yet it’s in good faith – meaning no one checks if you are or aren’t. In short, be prepared for a variety of rules from one location to another and be mentally prepared to comply with local guidelines.
  • Lots of places are still not open – especially smaller attractions and restaurants. People really need to check what’s open before making plans.
  • Most attractions that are open (parks, springs, etc.) have new capacity limits that limit the number of guests.. For example, Disney requires a reservation. Parks without reservation systems are first come first served.
  • Everything is costly right now; now that people are ready to travel again, prices have soared. Even food costs are insanely high. A good example is a scalloped basket in Hernando Beach that would have cost about $20 pre-covid – now it’s almost $30.
  • Be prepared for “shaming” – it’s a real thing. Depending on where you go and how you chose to protect or not protect yourself, people can and will give you the “eye”.. Much like how there is no national guidance, there’s no national consensus. Some destinations like Florida are pretty much a free for all. Pennsylvania, not so much – you still have to order food to get a drink up there!
  • Hours of operation are all over the place, as is service. Given that so many people are not working, all service industries are short on staff. Expect long lines, long waits for food, and a very different experience.

Take Minimal Things When You’re Out Of Hotel

When you leave your hotel, only take as much cash as you are willing to spend that day. This way, if something happens and you get robbed, it’s only for the cash you have on you. The cash you planned to spend. Don’t worry about having a credit card on you at all times. If you come across a must-buy, grab a cab and go back to your hotel and get it.

Avoid The Crowds

Avoid crowds – always avoid them. It’s common for groups to congregate to get you to walk into them – don’t. Walk around and keep going. If you get cornered in a crowd, keep moving and start to draw attention.

Huge thanks To Nikki from Brit On The Move for providing the above 6 pieces of Advice. I am sure they are of much value to our readers.

Consider Working!

I know this may sound strange, however, working abroad gets the feeling of being a real citizen there. If you are over 18 years old, traveling to another country on your own, and seeking work for at least 6 months while there, you may be eligible for a working holiday visa.

Forget The Stress

If you are traveling to a place where it is your first time, do not bring your phone with you or if you can’t leave it then turn on Airplane mode. It is just you, the strange place and your camera. Forget about your work, your struggles, and problems, and the things that are keeping you down. Leave it all behind once you step out from the plane. Enjoy and create memories that will last.

Our 9 Travelling Advice For You

We also wanted to participate, so here is some of our best advice:

1) Get a good bag with wheels on it like a duffel or rolling suitcase so that your hands are free for carrying other things. A backpack might work as well if you don’t have too much stuff you need to carry with you at once.

2) Consider getting an international cell phone plan before leaving home so that you’ll have access to the internet, text messaging, and phone calls while abroad without paying outrageous roaming charges from your home provider when outside of the US.

This can often be cheaper than paying for each call or message individually, especially if you need to contact another person who also has an international phone plan to complete your travel arrangements.

3) If you are traveling for work instead of pleasure, consider looking into Orbitz Worldwide. They have all kinds of job opportunities with many different companies. You can save a lot of money on flights and hotels too when you use them!

4) Watch your money. You’ve to keep in mind that it’s easy to waste your money on some silly things or things that you can get discounts on while buying it. Always ask a lot before buying something. Consider participating in some services that enable you to save money on one-way car rentals like MirrorTrip.

Always be sure to download an offline translator app onto your phone before leaving home so that, if necessary, you’ll always have access to the information you need even if you don’t have internet or cell service for some reason. This is especially handy if you are traveling to a country where they don’t have English as their first language.

5) One of the best tips for traveling is to always know where all of the restrooms are located, especially if you have small children with you or are just visiting a foreign country where the signage may not be as clear as in your home town.

You can find restrooms in other countries by checking out Reststop . This site has a great map where you just need to click on the location and it’s pinpointed for you along with reviews.

6) Have fun and be safe while traveling! If you’re going somewhere that requires a passport, then be sure that your passport isn’t expiring within 6 months or you might have problems entering the country you are visiting. You can always get more information on passport requirements by checking out Passport & Visa .

7) Be sure to get vaccinations for any planned travel to foreign countries so that you don’t bring back anything worse than what you caught abroad! The CDC has an up-to-date list of vaccine requirements around the world that can help you know what to get before leaving on your trip.

8) For those who are traveling by plane within a country, perhaps you’ll need to rent a car while there. If so, be sure you have all of the necessary insurance and identification ready before going out to find a rental car agency. Insurance for car rentals varies, so you should always check your home policy first before renting a car if necessary.

9) If you are traveling to another country by plane, be sure to have your luggage labeled with something very obvious about what it is and where it’s supposed to go, like having bright colors or using different stickers that specify that it’s a suitcase or something.

There have been cases where people would grab luggage from the carousel without checking to see if the correct person had gotten off of the plane yet. If your luggage doesn’t look like it belongs to you, then perhaps someone else could take it by mistake!
